My research focuses on studying the structure and evolution of the germ line-limited chromosomes (=Ks) in Acricotopus lucidus (Diptera, Chironomidae, subfamily Orthocladiinae), the molecular differences between the Ks and the somatic chromosomes (=Ss), and the unusual behavior of the Ks in the two elimination mitoses and in the differential gonial mitosis
that occur in the complex chromosome cycle of the Orthocladiinae.
